Karonda / Kavalekayi Chat pata chuteny.





This Karonda / Kavalekayi fruit is a rich source of Iron and Vitamin C (Antioxidants), which means that they are excellent as cure against Anemia (lack of red blood cells) and useful against anticancer activities.


Karonda / Kavalekayi Chat pata chuteny.

This chuteny is very delicious and can be eaten along with kachori, samosa, pakoras etc. It can also be eaten along with meals.

Ingredients


  • Karonda / Kavalekay/ Carissa carandus – 100 gm
  • Coriander – 50 gm or 1 small bowl (cut)
  • 4- large whole dry red chillies 
  • Jaggry- according to your taste
  • Asafetida – 1 to 2 pinch
  • Salt – as per taste 
Method - 

Wash and clean the Karondas/ kavalikayi and coriander.Add other ingradients &

grind everything finely in a grinder.


Take out the paste in a bowl. 
Put vagar with dash of hing & karipatta. 
The delicious Karonde /Kavalikayi/ Carissa carandus Chat pata Chutney is now ready to serve.

Karaunda / Kavalikayi pickle.




Oooo...This Pickle  is very very easy to make.....n friends I'm sure you all will enjoy while making  the same.

Karonda / Kavalikayi pickle.

Ingredients:

  •  Karonda / Kavalikayi- 1 cup (cut into halves)
  • Asaefoetida powder – a pinch
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt –  to taste
  • Mustard seeds -  1 ½  tsp
  •  Oil – 1 tb sp
Method:
1.     Wash the plums and dry Karonda/ Kavalikayi .
2.     Roast 1 tsp mustard seeds. Cool it and grind it to a coarse powder.
3.     Heat oil in a pan and add pinch of Asafoetida. Add remaining mustard seeds . Toss the mixture.
4.     Now add turmeric and salt and coarsely powdered mustard. Stir for 2-3 mins.
Put vagar n serve with Chapatis / Puris...
Cool and keep in air tight container. This can stay out at room temperature for a week or refrigerate for 1 month.
