Shrikhand
Shrikhand-
This is an Indian sweet dish, specially one of Maharastrian, Gujarati as well as Northern Karnataka's main dessert. It is commonly served with Pooris / chapatis & some times as a dessert.
Preparation is very easy..
Ingredients-
Curds- 1kg : sugar pd- 1 kg or 1 1/4 kg. (Depending on sourness
of curds)
Salt- pinch, Cardamom pd- ½ tsp, Saffron strands- few.
1.
Now put curds/ Yogurts is tied in a thin cotton cloth / towel for
approximately 2-3 hours
n left under pressure to remove extra whey water from it. **
2.
Remove this n now mix with sugar pd & pinch
of salt n put it in a Shrikhanda maker.
3.
(If u don’t have Shrikhand maker no probs.. Use
Flour sieve.
4.Put Saffron strands in warm milk to make it dissolve. now add Cardamom pd n mix well.
5.
U can preserve it for 8-10 days in ur
refrigerator.
(** u can use this Whey water 2 make chapattis/ 2 shine ur
Hair.)
